1. Wells Fargo ATMs are web enabled with WINDOWS OS:
US banking group Wells Fargo announced that its entire network of over 6200 cash machines is now web-enabled. The bank began deploying its Windows-based webATM machines in May 2000. The platform facilitates system improvements such as adding new languages or the ability to accept envelope-free deposits.

2. Micro-chip based Payment System in Pakistan:
Pakistan's United Bank Limited(UBL) has chosen XLSSoftware from Welcome Real-time to power its newly launched Visa chip credit card in Pakistan and South Asia.
UBL’s acquiring partner, RFM Loyalty uses XLS server to manage a network of payment terminals.
The new UBL chip credit card will be a payment card embedded with a microchip.

3. US officials finalise the draft for NIST's PIV IV - Personal Identity Verification Card Specifications. It's a Smart Card based standard ID specified by US Federal. Market opens up for RF Antenna, Micro chip manufacturer like Schulmberger and Obertur for 7 million US goverment employees and contractors working in goverment agencies.

4. NCR acquitions increases it's product features:

  • NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) announced today that it has acquired Kinetics, Inc., a privately held company and leading provider of self-service solutions for the travel industry, for $26 million.
  • NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) and Tidel Technologies, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: ATMS) have entered into an agreement for NCR to acquire Tidel’s automated teller machine (ATM) business. The parties anticipate closing the deal in the fourth quarter of 2005, after Tidel has filed its audited financial reports necessary for a shareholder vote.
Both the acquisitions are strategic in order to capture bigger marketplaces like ISO and Ticketing. Surely this acquistion will contribute in overall earning for the next two quarters for NCR.
